Dr Laura Huete: 00:09 I'm able to spend more time with patients. I don't have to see as many patients per day. I'm able to spend more time with them, really get to know them, develop that relationship with them, talk to them about their preventative care and the patients are happier too. They get more time with me, they get more time with the nurse because we're focused on their overall health and not necessarily doing more tests or doing more procedures for them.
Dr Neil Gokal: 00:30 We actually care about the experience and what their outcome of that was. We want to see that they're doing better and if they're doing better, I know I'm doing a good job and I feel better about that. I have the teams and the resources and the time with patients with Optum to be able to do that now. I can track and trend and see that my population, my patients, are getting the care that they need.
Dr Anna Gotardo: 00:50 As a practicing physician, I think our practice, it becomes better, you know, um, because we want our patients to feel better. We have them. We want them to not just feel better, but have better numbers as far as their blood work, their vital signs and things like that. So I think, I think it's shifted healthcare for the better.
Dr Lena Poole: 01:12 I had a gentleman that I saw maybe about four months ago, his A1C was 13. Knowing that we want this outcome measure to get his A1C better, we want it at a certain level, then we become a lot more innovative in finding ways to do that and identifying barriers with the patients to say, what can we do to help your med adherence or the situation at home or the schedule of your medication or your diet and because it's not fee for service, if we need to see them every two weeks to help that along, you know, we're able to get this gentleman's A1c from thirteen down to six in four months and so his health dramatically improved and we get to see that and feel that change.
Dr Laura Huete: 01:52 I went into medicine to really get to know my patients, especially family medicine, to be able to see them through some of the more vulnerable times in life and spend more time with the patients instead of instead of just a kind of the um, okay, I'm going to spend five minutes with you and that's about it. So with this model, I'm definitely able to spend that time with them, develop that relationship, get to know them and work with them to improve their health, improve their, improve their outcomes. And it's just, it's, it's a much more satisfying environment to be in when I can spend that time with them. And I don't have to say, oh, you only get three, three problems today. And that's it. Um, some of them, especially in the age group that I work with, the senior patients, they come in with very challenging medical and social problems. And so with the, the model that we work in an OptumCare, I have the resources and the time that I, that I need to really help them through some of those issues.
